ABOUT
Establishing Maali Aboriginal Designs in 2016, a 100% owned Aboriginal business, Marcia has always been devoted to learning about her culture for both Noongar and Yamatji bloodlines. From a young age her elders have always ensured cultural education and practices were a part of her identity.

Artist?
A Mother of three daughters, a Whadjuk, Ballardong, Yued Noongar and Buddimaya Yamatji Aboriginal Woman from Perth Western Australia.
With experience in Digital Designs using Adobe software, Marcia's art has been integrated into perforated screens, skylight vinyl wraps, concrete sandblasting, concrete structures and document designs.
You will also find Marcia's art in the heart of Boorloo (Perth) city, as Murals, park bench, canvases, and on corporate team shirts, football and rugby team shirts all around Perth.

Style?
Inspired by her ancestors traditional art, dreamtime stories and culture, Marcia's art incorporates traditional customs and designs, blending and connecting our cultures.
With a unique artistic style, combining traditional and modern art, through the use of colours and patterns, personal stories are interpreted into art.

Maali Name?
The name Maali means black swan in Noongar / Whadjuk language, her ancestors lived along the Derbal Yaragan (Perth Swan River), a significant place for fishing. On the State Flag the black swan is also an iconic symbol. Inspired by this connection with the black swan, Maali was chosen, as it represents Marcia and her people both past and present.

Maali Shop is now available to customers who want to wear unique designs, inspired by traditional Aboriginal culture. With a sustainable supplier, all products are print on demand products, reducing wastage.
Maali Art is a commission service, providing art digitally and physically for document designs, logos, team shirts, canvases and murals. Marcia uniquely interprets personal stories into art connecting her culture to her customers.
